Trolley Division Siltech’s trolley division evolved as part of our diversification program. National Key Account customers were surveyed to establish ‘What gave them the headaches’ to which Big W, one of our biggest and long standing customers replied: ‘Trolleys.’
After carrying out a feasibility study, a report was prepared identifying problems with the fleet by store, along with a number of solutions to the problems. This resulted in us being awarded a national refurbishment program, followed by an ongoing maintenance and repair program.
To overcome historical problems with excessive costs and service quality, Siltech introduced a fixed price contract, based upon a Service Level Agreement containing defined standards of workmanship and frequency of visits.
Siltech’s national presence enables us to maintain a comprehensive parts inventory for each type of trolley in each State and Territory and to respond to requests for assistance outside the scope of works.
A natural progression to managing the front of house trolleys (customers) was to take on responsibility for the stock trolleys which are used by store personnel and covers a wide range of trolley types and manufacturers.
On the back of our success with Big W this division has been carrying out work on behalf of Coles Supermarkets in NSW and QLD, BI-LO and Campbells Cash & Carry. We are actively developing the business both within the supermarket environment and other market sectors such as hospitality, airline and general retail.
