No more abandoned Shopping Trolleys
Wed, Dec 9th, 2009
A recent article from the Brisbane Courier Mail highlights the plight of retailers whose trolleys are taken outside the shopping centre boundaries. Shopping trolleys have been in the news in Brisbane because the Lord Mayor has threatened to impound any stray trolleys and charge Coles and Woolies for their return. Siltech is currently installing the Carttronics system at a number of major shopping centres around Brisbane. There have been five installations completed so far, with another two to be finished by Christmas. We've also done installations in Sydney and Melbourne.

The Carttronics wheel locking system enables trolleys to be taken into the centre’s car parks but will lock a front wheel as a trolley passes over an electronic strip at the centre’s street exits, and the trolley is unable to be pushed any further.
